私的な話を飛ばす場合はここをクリック 60年代70年代の洋楽ポップスが懐かしいと思う世代は元祖テレビっ子の世代でもあるでしょう。　ちょうどパソコンや携帯電話の進化ともに成長して行く今の子供たちのように，　テレビの進化とともに今の中高年は大人になって行ったのだと思います。　 テレビの進化の中でもエポック・メイキングだったのは海外や宇宙からの衛星中継。　　1967年に世界各国からの同時中継をする番組(Our World というタイトルだったらしい）があってビールトズが『愛こそはすべて』をアビイ・ロード・スタジオで演奏しているのを見たのは洋楽に目覚めた少年には感動的でした。　それに比べその時の日本からの映像は北海道の病院からの中継でアナウンサが魚拓みたいなのを見せながら「日本では子供が生まれるとこのように足型を残します」みたいなことを言う，　面白くとも何ともない内容だったと記憶しています。 1969年のアポロ１１号の月面着陸の中継は学校の「特別授業」として教室のテレビで見ました。　皆はアームストロング船長らの飛行士や月面の姿に興奮している様子でしたが，　私はそれよりもスタジオにゲストとして出演していた薬師寺の高田好胤師が合掌している姿のほうが気になっていました。　祈りは大気圏を越えて宇宙船にまで届くものなのだろうかと思っていました。 そしてケネディ大統領がダラスで暗殺されたことを伝えた1963年11月23日の日米初の衛星中継。　調べると事件が起きたのが現地時間の11月22日12時半なので日本では真夜中の午前3時半となりますからリアル・タイムでその映像を見ていないはずです。　私は11月23日のいつこの事件を知ったのか覚えていません。　勤労感謝の日で学校が休みなので遅く起きたときに朝のニュースで知った母親から聞いたような気もするし，　どこかに出かけて帰ってきたときに聞いたような気がします。　 その時の映像をその日のうちに見たのかの記憶もありません。　仮に見たとしても運良く白黒テレビでしかもテレビ局で編集したおかげでそれは子供が見てもその夜に眠れなくなるものではなかったでしょう。　今あらためて YouTube で検索してその映像を見ると，　カラーの上，無編集であるためかなりショッキングなものです。　（YouTube 側も18歳以下から容易にアクセスできない処理をしています。　ただしそうしないでも見られるものもあります）　 　　　　　　　　　　　　　 『星影のビギン（自由の讃歌）』はジョージ・アトキンス（脚本家）とハンク・レビン（作曲家）が，　1961年1月20日のケネディ大統領の初の就任演説から音声を切り貼りして作った作品で，　その発売時期から見るとケネディ大統領の追悼盤という意味があるように思えます。　しかしどこか茶化している感じもしないでもありません。　そもそもタイトルの　Let Us Begin The Beguine はスタンダード曲『ビギン・ザ・ビギン(Begin The Beguine)』から付けたのは明らかですし，　Sing Along With JFK (ＪＦＫと歌おう) は，　当時日本でもＮＨＫから毎週日曜日の午後に放映されていたミッチ・ミラー合唱団の『ミッチと歌おう』の原題　Sing Along With Mitch のパロディでしょう。　また『星影のビギン（自由の讃歌）』こそ「ケネディ大統領追悼盤」らしい雰囲気がありますが，　他の曲にはお遊び風な部分が感じられます。　もっともマジメにこういうのを作ってしまったら極東にある例の国と同じになってしまいますからそこは自由の国アメリカ，　いいんじゃないでしょうか。 　　　　　　　　　　　　　 歌詞で使われているケネディ大統領の初の就任演説の原文はこちら（外部リンク）にあります。　　その演説の内容は当時のアメリカの姿を如実に表しており，　当然ながらこの歌の歌詞にもその片鱗が見られます。 Let Us Begin The Beguineは就任演説の17段落目　Let both sides seek to invoke the wonders of science instead of its terrors. But let us begin.　が使われています。　　ソ連と宇宙開発を始め科学分野でしのぎを削っていた時代が感じられる部分です。 Alliance For Progress Bossa Nova　は就任演説の9段落目　To our sister republics south of our border, we offer a special pledge　to convert our good words into good deeds　in a new alliance for progress　to assist free men and free governments in casting off the chains of poverty. But this peaceful revolution of hope cannot become the prey of hostile powers. Let all our neighbors know that we shall join with them to oppose aggression or subversion anywhere in the Americas. And let every other power know that this Hemisphere intends to remain the master of its own house.　が使われています。 1959年1月キューバに社会主義革命が起きこれを包囲しようと軍事・経済・社会などの面からアメリカが中南米諸国をバックアップしようという『進歩のための同盟』に触れている箇所です。　現在（2007年1月）ベネズエラやエクアドルやニカラグアやブラジルなど中南米に次々と新左翼政権が生まれて反米主義を掲げていることを考えると興味深い箇所です。 The Trumpet　は就任演説の第22段落目　Now the out, "rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation" a struggle against the common enemies of man: tyranny, poverty, disease, and war itself. から取られています。　ソ連との冷たい戦争を意識しつつアメリカは平和と人類の幸せのために戦うのであるという部分です。　 ■
